Big Easy Farms in Boyds, Maryland offers lessons, training, and boarding as well as opportunities to compete in regional jumper, hunter, and eventing shows. Our philosophy is to create a balance between the horse and rider so their time together is relaxing, enjoyable, and successful. Adrian Ford has trained horses and riders since 1988. He has many local and state high score winners to his credit.
Originally from Louisiana, Adrian taught and supervised the Tulane University riding program for 3 years before moving to Maryland and obtaining his trainer's certification from the Maryland Horse Center. He was assistant to Grand Prix dressage trainer Elizabeth Madlener for several years and went on to work with Olympian Anne Kursinski as her barn manager. He gave riding instruction at several Potomac stables, and then established Big Easy Farms where he currently trains riders and horses. Adrian believes learning is a life-long process, and takes clinics with Olympians such as Jim Wofford, Joe Fargis, Michael Matz and George Morris.
